5 String Tenor
5 String Tenor
If you’re looking for outrageous projection and ridiculous sustain, this gorgeous 5 string tenor is for you! It’s got a well balanced voice with distinct articulation and a complexity of tone hard to find.
The top 2 strings are octave, with a high AND a low G tuning. The beautiful redwood top comes from a windfall that lay countless years on the forest floor of California. The Bastogne walnut for the back and sides was found at an estate sale, cut for and destined to be a rifle. I spotted it and immediately recognized it as a beautiful tone wood. It has uniquely designed fretboard markers inlaid in a standard fretboard (not scalloped) and to top it off, an ammonite fossil inlaid at the base of the neck on the back. It has a legendary shellac finish known throughout the instrument world for it’s high quality sound, not muffled by heavy varnish. The detail work on this gem is outstanding!
While being new, it has been displayed and shows small signs of wear. This price includes a hard case!
